so i've heard mixed things about super worms

some people say as a staple protein for bearded dragons they are bad news..

i've also heard that their 100% okay to feed as a staple....

so which is it?

does it just depend on the beardie?

( mine has hard urrates but he seems to only want pheonix worms or supers no crickets lately and i'd rather feed supers than phenoix worms because they are less expensive and last alot longer than that pheonix worms do)

any advice on curing hard urrates or oppinions on supers as a staple are welcome

thanks so much:)

as far as the nutritional content of superworms is concerned... im assuming your beardie is around 12 inches at least, you really just need to make sure you are feeding them good foods in order to not just fatten them up but have them healthy and packed with nutrients. you probably wont be feeding him loads of them anyway but if they are nice and loaded up you probably dont need to worry too much about whether they are bad or not. i mainly use supers as a staple but feed them all sorts of veggies and oats to get them packed. I keep buying crickets just so Fred has something to chase after and doesnt get lazy at feeding times. IMO as long as the greens portion of the diet is kept good and healthy you should be ok with supers.

Drayce is 2 so hes deffinately bigger than 12 inches lol :p

He gets collard greens dandelion greens (I'mcurrently looking for a place to buy dandelion seeds lol) endive green leaf (for extra moisture ) some times kale and then he gets offered raspberries sometimes al though he hasn't been to keen on his fruits lately and I'm working on learning how to prepare squash for him as well

So I'd say that he's well fed (when he chooses to eat them that is lol)

If there's anything I should add let me know :)

its ok to start them in a closed peat pot then once they are big enough wrap the pot in a double layer of weed cloth or build a rock cairn for them with an open top. you want to put them on the cool side ans watch how he eats them. i have a tiny angry bird porthole trophy ill put mint and basil cuttings in for draconis on occasion and they keep (with reptisafe treated water) for a couple of days. you might also get the basil seeds that are non gmo organic to grow yours some because its a good way to give variety and cut down on parasites.

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
