Super worm question

My dragon is about 16" long. I was wondering how many super worms you guys feed a day? Or do you feed them every other day? Because I read somewhere that people only feed around 5 worms a day. And the closest business near me only sells 1000 at a time. So if I fed exactly 5 every day, that'd give me enough food for 200 days! lol Problem is, obviously they will be trying to morph by then, and I don't have the time to run a breeding farm, thus they would be wasted.

So will ordering about 250 or 500 somewhere else be efficient? Trying not to waste money (esp. on shipping). I'm used to ordering 1000 crickets so ordering only 250 - 500 of something seems odd...

Unless they eat a lot more than that (5) in one day, then my whole theory is out the window haha

Thanks in advance.

For a young juvie, you want to start out with like 5 or so, but if they digest fine, you can go up to probably 20. I would not order 1000 until you have tried them, though. I bought a cup of 25 in October and still have 23.

I would order 250-500. From my experience, supers only morph if they are seperated. I ordered 1000 and it lasted me 3 months between two adult dragons. My male will eat about 15 a day. My female will eat until she busts so I keep her at 15-20. A superworm colony is low maintence but the babies grow VERY slow!

Supers will only morph if they need to. If you keep their living conditions fine then they won't morph.

ps. i would hold back on 20 a day thats way too much. 10 or so a day would be fine.

Just depends on how they digest. Some do fine with that many, others won't.

I just set Swordtail's timer for his bath and paused it so I could actually fill his soaking bowl up and he crawled over my phone and canceled the timer 🤣
Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
