bath time is tricky with Thorn. have another post here with all tank info. he dove under his 1/2 inch deep bath water and inhailed faster than i could pull him up. dumped out water best i could (typing one handed, holding him in other with rump up head down) lots of water came out he foamed at the mouth and blew bubbles from his nose. no more water is coming out but his breathing is labored and loud. how do i dry him up or will he be getting another round of antis for another URI?

***** dragon *grins wryly*
Teapot him regularly to help clear some more out, and gently pat his chest in a taptaptap with your fingers - like you do on the table. The rest of the time, park him under his heatspot, and keep parking him - it might help at least.

Hello,

Wow, that was quite a dive for him then!
Keep his tank warm over night, around 80 to try & ward off any respiratory infections hopefully. I wouldn't medicate him just yet, try to do preventative care first to see how he improves.
How do his colors look now?

hes a bit dark and i upped his hot side to 90 (cool is 80 was 75 ) basking still 105 hes been basking without help LOL must have a very little sense somewhere in his block head. his breathing is no longer labored but still making a slight wheeze noise, i held him but side up for over an hour (with the tapping) in a hope it would help. nothing else is coming out but the noise is bugging me. i still have no clue how he managed to get his head under (my hand was still on him) the water while lowering him in behind first.... hes a sneaky pain, been trying to do this for the last few weeks so ive been keeping the baths really shallow hes about 24inchs long i mean really its a small kitchen sink he cant stretch in it im confounded by his need to pretend hes a fish.

Thank the Goddess Rose (my dive bomber, she likes to climb things and do flying leaps) is a bit smarter LOL seems like I get all the "special" critters, we have 2 cats 2 dogs 2 dragons 1 rose hair tarantula 2 rats and a sugar glider, and they all seem to have some real issues upstairs.

Ill keep my eye on him glad to know its not a death sentence he really had me worried with the amount of water he dumped out of his mouth and nose, he was blowing bubbles from his nose and foaming at the mouth really terrified me.

I've been watching your thread to learn and to see how your dragon is doing. I sure hope he is okay - that would have totally freaked me out, too. I wonder why he did that?!?

i really have no idea why, hes been trying for awhile now to dive under, i try not to let the water (when he drinks) go past his nostrils it was so fast and unexpected, like i said though all our animals are kinda weird, my Rose (female beardie) LOVES to try to jump off my lap, i have caught her in mid air too many times, she no longer gets to sit on my lap unless im on the floor now, so instead she runs to anything higher than her self and climbs it FAST and dives off, makes me want to put a little parachute on her. But he just floored me with his " I'm a fishy" trick. gonna have to put him in the sink first and pour water in his bath after while holding his chin up now so he dosent do it again.

On that note his breathing sounds much clearer only whistles when he bobs his head hard hes been in a foul mood since i stopped his attempted suicide by water. He is sleeping kinda now in his hot spot, grey bearded and unhappy looking.

He is very cute, even if it is a grumpy cute. I wonder if you can soak him in a taller and thinner bowl so he can't dive under? Does that sound silly? Something that he can get most of his lower body into so his vent is under water but he can't possibly get his head down down into the water.

Poor guy!

Hi,
You can try sleeping him at an angle with his head lower than his body. That can help drain fluid from his lungs.
Poor little guy!

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
