suddenly aggressive, skipped his meals today

Unsure of the cause. he does appear to be going into shed. but lately he has been giving me the beard. usually he'll go crazy when i bring the food in for him. but today he just bearded me. and theres about 20-40 crickets crawling around in the enclosure.

anyone have any reasons for the sudden animosity? and why he wont eat?

How old is he?? if he's hit puberty or suddenly in the mood for love they can go mental black bearding and head bobbing and not fused about eating. Keep an eye on his weight and if it starts to down take him to the vet

hes about a year now. maybe a year and some. he'll only give me the beard when i walk around.

can you get all those crix out that are walking around? I know he's an adult, but, that can add stress with some beardies. You have had him for a year, do all those crix running around stress him out? It does with my BlueBelle. Others it doesnt bother. Just trying to think....Hmmmmmm...maybe he is going thorugh Beardie Puberty. Totally possible!! HOPEFULLY this is just a glitch in his week and he will be back to normal soon, maybe even tomorrow! i sometimes wonder if they have "annoyed" days just like we do ya know? ha! i swear i think they do. Is all the lighting working right still, did a bulb go out, or does one need to be replaced you think? Temps still the same? Has there been any change (even small) lately that might have stressed him?

i cant get them out, and he doesnt seem phased by them at all. my reptisun needs to be replaced im sure. i moved him into a new room about 3 or 4 weeks ago, and he didnt seem phased by that at all either. is it possible hes just not used to seeing my as often?

i would think that is totally possible. Like, "wow you are really all up in my grill lately"
Its wierd b/c i think they are more sensitive to change at wierder times than we think.
ever noticed that some "stress" doesnt seem to come until a few weeks AFTER the change. Go ahead ahead and replace that ReptiSun, it could just be a matter of that in itself. Makes such a difference. Keep me posted, i hope that things start to change. And if its that "beardie puberty" (which i totally dread with mine) then its just a matter of time. Dont let him know it bothers you...i swear they sense our weaknesses! ha! But DEF keep us posted!!! I will try to think of some other things in the meanwhile for sure

alrighty. usually my beardie was more susceptible to more immediate change. so im confused. im pretty sure he is just going into a big shed, because he is very blurry. usually they are cranky when they shed. as for the puberty thing i feel like he would have gone through it already. but we'll see. thanks
