so i have a female bearded dragon, she is around 1 and a half years old and for a while she was really lazy and didnt move much now for a week or two she constantly runs around her enclousure, scratching on glass like she wants out she also has a black beard while doing this but her body turns light/ yellowish colour, when i let her out she moustly runs to the balcony door and looks outside. Normaly she pooped once a week or so and it was a biig pile, but as soon as this active behaviour started she poops really small portions which alot of is urinite (the white stuff) dont get me wrong i love that she is active but im afraid that something could be wrong cause this behaviour came suddenly. the temp on the hot spot is around 35-40 degree celsius, i have a UVB light trixie sunlight pro 2.0 and she eats normaly maybe just a bit more pickie

so my question is could be something wrong or is this some mating season or just normal behaviour?

thank you for all answers

No bigger like a 18 gallon tote. They need to be able to dig farther down and the sand needs to be damp.

I agree with the above poster. This is typical prego behavior.

With Buddy she does the same thing as what you describing, then goes 2-3 days without eating at all and will lay her eggs finally. I got a tub from Walmart, like a storage tub that's pretty deep and bought play sand from Home Depot. You will need to wet the sand a bit so it forms, I do with with warm water to warm up the sand. Put her in there and she should start to dig. This may be a frustrating time for you and her lol she will want out and back in and out and back in. It'll drive you nuts but eventually she'll lay them.

I'll look up my old thread of when I found out Buddy was gravid.

(It's long but good info in there and pictures that may help. If you get time I would look it over)

I tried but she's only interested in getting out of the lay box, currently I'm moving her from the terrarium to the lay box and backwards I don't know what tto do anymore she shows no interest in digging at all

Mine refused to lay with the top being open like that. I laid a towel across the top and went and watched some tv for awhile. When I went back in later that evening I found 27 eggs. She may be shy...

Miss Buddy is picky too. I go crazy trying to get her to lay. Sometimes she doesn't want the heat light on her, sometimes she wants the blanket across the top, or if I enter the room she just stops and tries to get out. This will go on for days!

I'm glad she actually laid for you! Just make sure you give her plenty of calcium and water. Extra bath would be a good idea. Buddy will sometimes have an egg leftover so I try to make her poop soon after. And beware, this may just be the start, so far when Buddy lays eggs she does it 3x each time.

Keep us updated and let us know if you have any questions!

no cganges... ill try putting a blanket on but wont she go to sleep in the dark? she does poop more often now but still very small portions, she still refuses veggies and canned food but will eat live food, her mood is the same all the time she wants out of her enclousure and if i dont let her she gets a black beard

Questions: the dirt and basket arent really warm, is that a problem? what can i do excet spray with hot water?

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
Mirage entered brumation yesterday, I'm gonna miss hanging out with my little guy.
