We right off the bat bought the reptile mat from our local petsmart and while it hasnt been a big deal, I hate having to stress him out and clean the whole thing everytime he poops, and it leave a gross stain I just cant get out(I scrubbed and scrubbed till I couldn't scrub anymore). We tried coconut fiber and he thought it was tasty and ate a bit of it so we immediately dumped it all out, and put the mat back in. I was wondering about sand? Or what else we could try? I want something I can clean easily and I wont have to freak him out everytime he poops, ans they are HUGE smelly poops lol.

The first time I saw the sand mat I thought that it would never be a good flooring for the reasons that you mentioned. Try some non adhesive shelf liner....looks good + easy to wipe it up.

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
