Stuck in shed? Definitely causing beardie pain!! Help!

Recently we rescued an adult male beardie from my sister-in-law. He didn't have proper lighting and was impacted. We've had him now for a month and he's thriving with his new reptisun 10.0. However, it appears he has stuck on shed. I'm not 100% sure, but baths are not loosening it. He's had one today and I plan to give him another in a few hours. I've attached pics of his back foot, tail tip, and midtail stuck scale. I gently tugged on the single scale, and it clearly hurt him, so I left it alone. He reacts similarly when I rub the tip of his tail or his toes. Any suggestions?

Hello how long has he been shedding for? It can take mine a few weeks to shed sometimes, you could try running a little bit of veg oil on it, I've read it has helped some x

Hi Megan, congrats on your rescue dragon. Don't be too worried, the toe shed looks completely normal but pulling on a scale or on the shed is what hurt, not the shed itself. Don't pull it or rub it at all. You can put a dab of raw honey on it , or an even Neosporin , not because it's infected or unhealthy but simply to loosen the skin. There's nothing there that looks troublesome and it should come off on it's own.

Don't bother with extra baths either, just 1-2 X a week. You can also spritz him in the tank once a day.

I'm not sure when he started shedding- it was before we got him at the end of Thanksgiving. He shed from the tail and back of the legs. I haven't noticed any other shed. I haven't taken him out of his tank in the last 3-4 days because he's been very aggressive. I think he's mad that we took his sand away and replaced it with a rocky/dirt mat. I'm only concerned because he appears a bit swollen in those two toes. And is obviously in pain when they're touched.
