Fatboy is 2.5 yrs old and stubborn Like his dad (me
)
Well he went into brumation back in November.
He finally decided to wake up 3 weeks ago.
At first he was eating 6 superworms a day when he first woke up.
He would eat his collards only if wife got him to eat squash babyfood and
put the baby food on the collards and hand feed him.
He is in a 4x2x2 enclosure with a new 100 wt Mega-ray (first one finally went out after 15 months.
His Temps are 102 under Mega ray (basking area taken with digital probe thermometer.
I also use a Pe1 temp gun to make sure digital probe is correct.
The cool side has a bright white floresent tube and in the middle of viv is a 60 watt day glo bulb.
The cool side stays between 78 and 82f.
Now when i offer him superworms he just turns his head and shows no interest.
He is 21 inches long and 650 grms last time i weighed him.
He doesn't appear to be losing weight and he does get his baths 2 times a week.
Notice he loves to drink water out of the tub. his poop is normal urates look good and white.
He shows no sign of being sick.
Got him at 3 weeks old and 7 inches head to tip of tail.
He has never been a big salad eater even when young .
Tried collards , endive ,escarol, blueberries . he wont touch it.
Now if wife offers squash babyfood hand fed he will lap that down.
Question? if i try getting him to eat some jumpstart you think he will get his appetite back?
We did battle with pinworms about this time last year and thanks to people on this sight we got him to eat chicken and squash baby food.He loved it.
Did we spoil him and now he thinks he can only eat baby food?
He runs all over his viv and we take him outside on occasion to get natrul sunlight
and he runs all over the patio.
This hand feeding is becoming a pain in da butt.
Any help on getting this stubborn dragon to eat would be greatly appreciated.
