Moved here from the Enclosure forum.

If you could answer Olivia's questions, it would help us rule things out. Please also fill us in on the type of thermometer you're using.

It's also possible that he is seeing his reflection, sometimes that can stress them out.

At the moment I'm not sure of the lighting... We got him from a friend who said everything in his viv was fine :? but they didnt really know anything about them they were feeding all sorts of bad things and stuff but yeah. I have got paper on the glass so he should'nt be able to see himself but if the wrong lights can stress them what light should I buy him? Is there a good one for him? I just want him to be happy

Thanx

Ps I've had just under a month but he's still stressted they never handeled him :angry5:

Do you happen to know the wattage of the basking bulb you're using now? Is it a colored or white bulb? Also, is there a UVB bulb? It would either be a long fluorescent tube or coil/compact bulb. The best UVB you can get in the U.S. is the Repti-Sun 10.0 fluorescent tube which you can get here for a very reasonable price: www.petmountain.com

Are you monitoring the temperatures? If you're using a digital strip or a round gauge type, those can be off as much as 20 degrees. The only 2 ways to get accurate readings are with either an infrared temperature gun or a digital thermometer with a long wire & probe end.

What foods have you been feeding him and how often are you dusting with calcium and vitamins? Have you been keeping him well hydrated?

Right Firstof no I'm not sure of the bulb but its red I do have a spare 40 watt one but no idea bout the one in there and yes there is a UVB light its a tube taped on the back of the viv and there a re 2 themomaters in there one looks live a negitve photo strip and the others round like a compass(but that one bust)

He eats crickets wax worms (only occanssinaly) lots of fresh veg and I bath him every day (he loves the bath)
Before I got him though they used sand and kept him with another male beardie (No other beardie or sand now)

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
