no one seems to really know why my beardie is so stressed can anyone give me some advice he is about 5 weeks old 7 inches long he wont come out of his cave to bask and if he does itll be for a few minutes when i go near the tank his stress marks get so deep and dark he is in an exo terra large and low tank has a reptisun 10.0 inside the tank has a 100 watt basking bulb basking temperature at about 99 degrees he was never like this until i put him in this big tank can it be the tank is to big i use paper towel as a substrate the tank is a bit empty only have a big food dish a basking rock/cave and a fake cactus in there ive tried everything i have a shirt in there for him to get used to my scent and when i try to get him he tries biting me so ive put my hand palm facing up in the tank a couple of times a day but he still seems so stressed can anyone please give me a solution ?

the setup was fine from the research ive done here i bought a 20 long today since hes still a baby hes actually basking and ate 10+ crickets never seen him eat that much in the exoterra large tank things seem a little better now i'll keep you posted if i see another road block in me and my beardies adventure together

It seems like you're had quite a few issues with these beardies, do you still have the other one?

Did you replace the coil UVB with a Repti-Sun 10.0 fluorescent tube?

It's good that he ate better. Would be a good idea to make some of the changes that have been recommended if you haven't already.
