I just recently heard about stress marks, Ryuk has never developed them and I've never had an issue with it. Today, I took him/her out to clean the viv and he/she was in a separate container for a while and now I've placed Ryuk back and the stress marks appeared. What are they? Do they go away? How can I prevent it in the future?

Stress marks a fairly common among beardies, Bowie had them quite often when I first got him, but they disappeared almost completely after about a month of him settling in. Keep in mind they may not always be an indicator of stress either, I've noticed bowie only has them now when he's basking - perhaps trying to darken his colour to absorb the heat. Some beardies express them when they're happy, some beardies express them when they're hungry and some just express them, the usually go away from anywhere to a few minutes to maybe an hour or so. Out of curiosity, what's your husbandry like? in the mean time, as long as you're keeping an eye on your beardie, making sure his/her diet, stool other habits are normal, it shouldn't be an issue. Usually stress marks are only an issue when they're constantly displayed.

I just set Swordtail's timer for his bath and paused it so I could actually fill his soaking bowl up and he crawled over my phone and canceled the timer 🤣
Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
