Stress for my little one from an unwelcome newcomer?

Hey guys,

I've had my baby beardie (Rooney) for a little bit over a month now. Things have been great. She (not sure on gender actually) has been eating like crazy, growing by the minute, and we've been working on our physical bond (still quite skittish but we're getting there!)

Yesterday a friend of mine who works at petco called me up to let me know an adult beardie was dropped off for adoption. He has no health issues, the previous owner was moving and, unfortunately, could no longer keep him. Needless to say I fell in love, (and the $10 price tag for animal+tank and all supplies...can't go wrong 8)

My only concern is my little one now seems quite uneasy. They're housed separately, and the big guy (still cooking up a name) is up higher so I don't think they're in line of sight. Their room is a little crazy right now, and I'm going to get this new guy a larger tank and better table this week, and hopefully be able to separate their view of one another. But Rooney, the small one, has been nervously sitting in one spot, doing lots of arm waving (which is SO cute!) And she even let me hold her no problem this morning. However, she has yet to go after any crickets (usually I can't get them in there fast enough)

My question is would it be better to completely separate them, even as far as different rooms? Or is this something that she'll get used to. I would like them to get comfortable with one another eventually, but I don't want my little one to be too stressed!

p.s. I'll try and get some pics up for you guys

As long as your little one really can't see the big one then I think it would be ok. But if she could see the big one it would totally freak her out! Just make sure they really can't see each other.

I just set Swordtail's timer for his bath and paused it so I could actually fill his soaking bowl up and he crawled over my phone and canceled the timer 🤣
Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
