Ok, so in addition to Yoshi blackbearding since his head is in shed, his poop also looks strange. This morning he got out of his bed and went over to his dish. He started to eat but I stopped him cuz it was dried up from yesterday and I hadn't gotten him fresh greens yet. So I got him some fresh, but left out the squash, thinking maybe that was causing his strange poop. But then he wouldn't eat his greens. :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: Idk what to do. I feel like a bad mom but I thought I had everything figured out and now it's like all of a sudden there's tons of stuff at once that I can't explain and have no idea what to do about.

Wakin up all black...

Weird lookin poo...

Could be an overload of pinworms which commonly come from crickets.. My beardies poo looked like that a couple months ago, same symptoms, and he had an overload of Coccidia :(

LOL Thanx! He loves it. :)

Not to sound like I don't care, but how long til the pinworms cause a bigger problem? I won't get paid for two weeks and can't afford a vet visit right now. :( I can figure something out if I have to, but my finances are so screwed.

Depends on how overloaded your beardie is... I have a tube of panacur that I bought for deworming, and I do it every 6 months to be on the safe side. They use that for pinworms. It's pretty cheap.. you can get it at www.beautifuldragons.com and it comes with a dosing chart.. It's very gentle on their systems. Not that I recommend using stuff without a vet visit, (I'll get crusified on here) but, like I said it's very gentle and effective against pinworms and a lot of people on here use it as a precautionary measure....

Thanx. And I also PM'ed Tracie to see what she thought as well. UGH... Seems like I work simply to pay for vet bills. Between Yoshi and my cat, I'm broke as a joke.

I hope your beardie gets better soon!!

Also, as a side note, is panacur ok to use as like preventative? I'm between jobs atm and don't want my beardie to get worms or anything. Is there anyway to kind of prevent worms?

Not trying to thread-jack or anything just saw that it was mentioned and I've been curious about this for a bit...

You can use it as a preventative, it is very mild on them with no harsh side effects. I give mine it every 6 months, 1 dose, than 1 more dose 2 weeks later.. but you should always have a fecal done at least once a year regardless.

Yea I was going to get her yearly fecal done this summer but I lost my job so we're operating off one income [which isn't much] until I can find a new one. Also, I started getting crickets from a different pet store and they just seem... like lower quality I guess is how I can put it. Isis's poo before last looked very similar to the poo the OP of this thread had too. I thought it was just because I had given her some baby food so it was just more liquidy than normal but Idk...

Yes, I talked to Tracie (Drache13) and she said it seemed normal. I think the reason I didn't realize how watery it was before is cuz I used to have him on repticarpet and it always soaked up the excess liquid. I recently switched to non-adhesive shelf liner so the liquid stays there. LOL

Also she said if it's too hot (since my roommates are dumb when it comes to a/c control) he can get diarrhea. But I am working on getting a seperate a/c window unit for my room so he'll be better regulated. He's acting fine now and just got through with a full head shed. Still some pieces hanging on, but other than that, he's back to normal. :love5:

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
