For the past several weeks Jayden has been acting strangely. He'll sleep inside his cork round and eat little or nothing for a few days, even ignoring his crickets or superworms. Then he'll decide to come out, eat, bask, and act normally for a few more days. After that, it's back to snoozing away. After a few days of that, he's ready to join the world again. This back and forth behavior has been going on for about three weeks. He had a beardie bath this morning and was in normal mode until around noon when he decided to get into his cork round and sleep again.
He's three years old, and so far I've never seen a beardie brumate. I don't know if he's thinking about brumating and keeps changing his mind or what's going on. His weight is good and he looks healthy. The temperatures in his viv are fine. On his awake days he's perfectly normal and not sluggish or anything. So what gives? Is he making his way toward brumation or do some beardies do this back and forth awake/sleepy behavior during the winter months?
