Hi Guys! Its Katelynn Managed to forget my previous profile's info so I made a new one.
Anywho..
Mr. Phoenix , where do I begin with his little self? He lives the good life, has a awesome set up (100 basking spot w/ repti sun 10.0) Hammock, hides & blankie. Good diet, he eats his veggies like a champ and gets his crickets dusted x2 a day 5 days a week (other 2 days are his vitamin dust..is this enough or should I dust w/ vitamins more?) Growing like a weed! He sheds just about every other week it seems... BUT...he hates me...still He's about 5 months old I think.
Now I've covered this topic before with you guys , and have received some awesome feedback. But I'm not having much luck. I've had him exactly 3 months. I can hand feed him and coast him onto my hand with no problem, he'll hang out all day if I let him. I can also pick him up in his blanket (beardie burrito) after he passes out (after about an hour after lights off) no problem, he just snoozes away. BUT if I attempt to pick him up from the side or slide my fingers under him to pick him up without food...... He goes Ape S**t. My hands are tore UP from him scratching me trying to escape, And his beard turns black. I've adopted the idea if I don't let go while he tries to escape my grasp, he will eventually grow tired and give up. This works for about 10 minutes before he gets his strength back and starts fighting again. I'm not giving up, and I am very persistent. But is it normal for them to take this long to tame? He seems like he enjoys being petted, but does not like the idea of being held.
It really sucks I want to be able to take him out and let him run around, cuddle, take him outside, ect.... (he glass surfs occasionally like he wants out), but I cant step 5 feet away from his cage without him trying to get loose... He hasn't even had his first bath yet because he's so freaking crazy! He came real close to getting loose tonight, luckily I caught him. He's so unpredictable, its scary! I'm really at a loss here Sorry for the novel I just wanted to make sure you guys had enough detail
