Still gaping after albon treatment

My beardie Ra was taken to the vet a week ago. He was tested positive for coccidia and the vet seemed shocked on what he found. His symptoms before hand was smelly poop (I could smell it outside the apt.) and gaping. He was given Albon for 5 days. It's day 9. His poops are much more solid and not too smelly but he's still gaping. I don't think anything could be wrong with the temps. I have it at 103 at basking and 80 on the cool side. Should I take him in to the vet again? I really don't know what's wrong

This was posted in the "dealing with infectious disease" area. It's been over a week now and his poops have returned to being smelly and runny. He is still gaping. Is it safe to give him another round of antibiotics so soon?

Coccidia can be difficult to treat. The cage must be sterilized after every poo or he can reinfect himself again. It will often require more then one treatment, especially if its a heavy infection.
I've not heard of gaping as a symptom of Coccidia, it probably just normal temperature regulation that all beardies do. Can you drop the temps a couple degrees and see if it helps?

He does a lot of gaping when he's outside the tank as well. I've been noticing it's getting worse. I don't hear him making any noise, so I really don't know or think its a repiratory infection :?

I changed up his tank till he gets better. I'm using paper towel as of now (soon to be newspaper) as my substrate. I don't think carpet is suitable right now. It can get icky after a poo. Here's a pic of it

I took out his branch and his hammock as well. It's less to clean up. I do plan on buying a new branch once he's better

If he is gapping when he isn't under the light then I would be concerned about a respiratory infection, he should probably get checked out by a vet and be put on antibiotics.
