Starting a Dubia Colony

Ok my fellow beardie and various reptile owners a I have a few questions.
1. Does it matter what color my roach bin is?

I currently have a clear one but it wouldn't be a problem to swap it for a dark colored one.

2. What do you guys use to heat your bin? Human Heating pad, reptile heat pad, or heat light(if so plz specify which brand and model if don't mind)

3. How many adult roaches should I start off with?

Currently I have 200 nypmhs and 50 adults on the way.

Hello! I started a dubia colony a maybe 2 years ago.... I keep them in a 10 gallon aquarium with a lid. I have used a human heating pad when they needed a little extra heat usually in the cooler months. 50 adults should be plenty to start with... I started with 40 assorted and it is now huge... I sell some off on craigslist once in a while. Good luck!
