Staples

I have done some research and have found that their are mixed opinions on what and what is not a good staple (ex: Silkworms are mentioned as both bad and good) For an adult bearded dragon over 16 inches what is the BEST STAPLE nutrition wise out there. Right now i'm feeding my beadie supers because they are super easy to take care of (No pun intended ). And ...ah... anyone know how to get your beardie to eat salad cause no matter what i do my beardie only occasionally eats salad (and its very well prepared) :mrgreen:

Sometimes my beardies get spoiled too and won't eat salad. Try putting the superworms into the salad and your beardie is bound to pick up some salad.... Unless you have a ninja beardie like one of mine who is a pro at not eating the salad.

Supers are fine since your beardie is over 16 inches. Thats my main staple too. Dubias are great. I would be done with supers if my dubia colony was big enough already.

Good staples: Crickets, superworms, hornworms are ok, silkies, yeah ok i guess but hard to take care of. Dubias, the best Good luck.

Dubias are awesome, I went with Discoids because a local shop sells em to me for $20 per 100, rather than the $50 or so for 50 you find online, not to mention about 40% of the roaches he sold me were full adults, and some of my larger nymphs have already molted into adults and its only been a week. They are basically the same as dubias, except that the females and males both have wings, so you have to examine their underside to sex them. Roaches have my vote though.
