Ok, so I have been wanting to get my Nicky and Vega each a nice Exo Terra 36x18x18, and I picked one up fairly cheap.. new in box.. however, no matter how many times I got excited and measured my Origami shelving unit, when we hoisted that monster of a tank up, it didn't fit. :( a in just didn't fit.. I wanted to cry.

I was looking at Dr. Fosters and Smith and found a double tank stand, and figured that would be perfect to put BOTH on and keep it compact enough that it wouldn't tick off my husband.. but come to find out, the 65 that looks perfect, wont fit the tank under it, and the 75, will fit, however will be 5 inches short on either end, and 1 inch OVER in the front and the back..

does anyone have any suggestions besides DIY? I am not THAT handy, and it would be a waste of money and material.. trust me.. lol.. but I need something sturdy... I know someone must feel my pain!! lol.. I want to move Nicky in the one I have now since she is bigger.. but I don't want to go through moving everything over just so it can sit on my floor.. :( I really hate that.

Thank you so much for your help... I really appreciate it.

I made a stand for my roaches that accommodates two tanks, but only actually supports the other sits on the floor. It wouldn't be too different to make it support the one below it. It was only a couple of 2x4s and some screws. Power saws make it easier but you could also do it with a hand saw. If you are interested I can throw together a quick how to.

That looks great, but I am NOT a builder.. I can put things together, but as far as making something like that, there is no way...I tried, it fell apart.. (fast).. and I stopped.. I just do not have my grandfathers skills.. LOL.. and sadly, he is no longer around.

A friend of mine told me to look at restaurant depot... I should have thought about that since at one point I was in there looking at shelving for a café I was going to open a few years ago... but was so frustrated over not being able to use my origami that it just slipped my mind.. so trying to pull up the page now.

Sorry I didn't respond sooner..my connection wasn't letting me reply.. :(

I went to IKEA and measured a table that was just about 36x18x18 and use that as my stand. It was cheap, looks reasonably good in the living room, and was easy to put together.

I would need two of them, and I don't have room in my apartment to put two full 36" wide tables..lol.. :(

I think Im going to try the restaurant racks.. but might go with one from amazon.. seems a bit cheaper... The shelves are adjustable, so I can use two totes on the very bottom for crickets, have the one exo terra above that, some height for the lighting, then the next exo terra and lights on top of that one.. if I have enough room, Ill add the shelf on the top for two totes for accessories and cleaning supplies. If I get tall enough polls, I can add their emergency bag/carrier to the top as well.. My OCD has been working over time.. LOL..

I found some pictures online of someone using them for his snakes and smaller exo terra, and WOW, nice.. its pleasing to the eye, and I can zip tie the day/night timer strip behind the cages and pull up the cords. A place for everything and everything in its place...

I also have two Chams I am thinking of doing shelving for.. but since my son keeps screwing with my Monsoon mister, Ill be doing both screen habitats on their own shelving units, and connect the two with 2 smaller 24x14 shelves higher so the monsoon will sit on one, and the other will have a smaller bin for their items. Under their cages Ill be doing a drainage system for any excess water, that will sit on the very bottom shelve..

When Im done getting my dragon set up done, Ill post a picture.. might take a bit since Ill be doing it a few pieces at a time, and I don't have the second exo terra quiet yet.. but soon. :)

thank you guys for your input.. :D

Sometimes those bakers racks go onsale at Target and Costco. I have some in my basement that I keep the roach tank on so there is airflow underneath the heat pad.

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
Mirage entered brumation yesterday, I'm gonna miss hanging out with my little guy.
