Hi there, i've been saying im not too sure about my seven month olds poop. Well i finally decided to take him to the vet. She's testing him for worms and parasites.... she thinks he has them anyway.....she rang me not long ago to say he has coco smething as well so now hes going to be on about 3 different meds + she thinks he should have stronger doses of calcium which they have perscribed, even though i always use calcium on the crickets. poor thing. I'll find out what to do about the viv
(cleaning wise) next, any ideas :?: Julie

A probiotic would be really helpful. The parasite treatments often wipe out the good bacteria in a beardie's intestinal tract that help with digestion.

Also, make sure they are well-hydrated, as those treatments can be quite harsh.

You mentioned a different type of calcium from the vet. Sometimes even properly dusted dragons can have calcium deficiencies. Genetics plays a part in their health issues too, not just the care they receive. You could have a dragon genetically predisposed to not digest the calcium in supplements. There are members who have dragons with Adenovirus that cannot digest certain forms of calcium. Yours wouldn't be the first one to have an intolerance to one type of calcium. It could be a one-time thing and all they need is a calcium boost, or it could be a long-term problem where you need to discuss using a different type of calcium.

thanks for your reply, i've been given zolcal-D which is interesting as its soluble calcium which is to be dissolved in one litre of water :shock: how i supposed to give him it i'm not sure, but it will be interesting :? One good thing though his poop is firming up
