I know there is no way of knowing for sure but Spyro kinda looks like an orange tiger morph based on pics found online.. Does anyone have a more educated opinion on what she might be? I love her and it doesn't really matter, I'm just curious.. I bought her at a pet store mixed in with other beardies so I didn't get much info.. This is her..

Looks like a high colored normal, which is not at all a bad thing. Some people treat the word normal like a bad word in the reptile world but it really just refers to the lack of genetic mutations in an animal.

Morphs refer to things like being hypo, trans, leatherback, wits, etc. When people call a dragon a tiger, sandfire, lava, citrus, etc they are just referring to the names they made up for patterns and color. While a lot of breeders focus on those things and it can be passed down from parents to offspring it isn't really considered a morph.

It's hard to tell from the pics but she does look like she could possibly be hypo. Are all her nails clear? If they are then that combined with the bright coloration would lead me to say she's hypo.

Either way she is stunning and a fantastic find for a pet store! I've always loved seeing the contrasts between those blue sidebars and oranges or yellows. It really makes them pop.

Hi there....beautiful boy. :) Spyro definitely is a tiger, his color may intensify or fade as he gets older but the tiger barring is quite distinct. I used to raise tigers myself, and tigers are actually a morph.
Tammy Aldrich from Draggintails is well known as the originator of the citrus tiger....undisputed as a morph, and there are color variations including firetiger. Tigers have been bred in to many lines and a heavily barred dragon can be called exactly that.

I was always told it wasn't technically a morph but I'll take your word for it. Congrats Spyro09. Good pick up ?

Thanks for the replies! That's article is really cool! So she could be hypo? All of her nails are white... So she is a tiger with blue bares? That's pretty awesome! Glad to know she is a good find! Go Spyro!

I just set Swordtail's timer for his bath and paused it so I could actually fill his soaking bowl up and he crawled over my phone and canceled the timer 🤣
Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
