I have slate in Merlin's viv. When I clean the entire viv, I take everything out and soak it in a bleach water solution, scrub it, rinse it good, dry it and reassemble the viv. But in between cleanings when he poos and I clean it up, I'd like to have some sort of solution that I can keep in a spray bottle to spray directly onto the soiled spot to make the viv smell fresher. Of course, it's got to be something that won't harm him if he licks it and we all know they lick everything. Right now, I'm using plain warm water and it just isn't cleaning it good enough. Merlin's only a little over four months and poo's a couple of times a day. I can't wait until he's older and doesn't go as often. I am trying to train him to poo in the bath and we are making progress but I can't give that many baths because I work a forty hour job. The tiles are the large tiles so it's a bit of a pain to remove them every time he goes and also I have to take them to the downstairs basement bathroom to clean them because I have to be extra careful about the salmonella issue because my husband had a heart transplant two years ago and has a depressed immune system because of it so I have to be extra careful about the salmonella issue. Any suggestions???? I really could use some advice on this.
