Hey everyone! So this is my first time ever owning a bearded dragon, and I must say, I can't be happier. We have a beautiful Citrus boy, about 13 inches long now. And we have had him for about 2 months now. When we first got Spike(my baby boy ), he was housed in an awesome 20 gallon tank, fitted with all the lights, and heat he needed. The tank was up on the old TV unit. We have 4 cats, and they all like Spike. Except one. Callie, my torti, has fallen head over heals in love with Spike. And I do think the feeling is mutual. Callie would sleep curled up around the corner of the tank, and Spike would lay with her for hours like that. When Spike has "out time" with us on the couch, Spike will always look for Callie, and Callie will roll on her back and let him cuddle her tummy. Callie has even tried cleaning him a few times, and has learned that if you rub the spikes the wrong way, they do hurt.
So a few days ago we bought a 90 gallon tank for Spike, and outfitted it to the T for the little man. But there is one issue. Callie can no longer sleep curled up beside the tank, since the tank fits on our stand perfectly. But the top of the screen had a hole in the top from the previous owners. We thought nothing about it, since we just put the light bar over the hole and all was well. Or so we thought.
This morning when I woke up, I got the shock of a lifetime. There, in the tank, curled up on the warm side, was Callie, and Spike. Sleeping away happily.
It was a pain to get her out of there, since as soon as I went to pick Callie up, Spike got mad and started hissing lol. But I made it all better with some horn worms
