Wow! What great pics of Queen Spoiled Spike! Great job taking those! I think these last ones are y favorite because you can really see her and her colors, and it is even like I see her personality! She is really loved and it shines through! I am guessing that is still the sleeping bag you made for her? You do such a good job. I swear I don't know how you do everything that you do, plus raise a family and run a zoo. But one thing I do know is Queen Spoiled Spike is one LUCKY dragon! Thanks for the pics.

Btw.... How are the eggs? How much longer till we know if they are babies in there?

Spike has started poking her head into her hide to sleep.. just her head. Half her tummy.. her legs and her tail just laid out across the tile. Sometimes I find her in her hide during the day too.. which is really weird for her. She NEVER ever went into that hide for the first 4 months! I panicked the other day when I didn't see her in her house! I found her in her hide.. UNDER her sleeping bag! Since she started doing that.. I made sure to tuck her sleeping bag into her hide. She also has a few mini blankies I knitted for her.. so I throw those over her.. and she has her face snuggled onto her sleeping bag. Yesterday she crawled out of her sleeping position I left her in.. went around her hide.. and wrapped around it pressed against the glass! I am so glad I keep a towel on her hide.. or she would have been on rock and cold tile! I think she ends up moving around because my son wakes her up when he goes into his bedroom for the night... because she used to stay wherever I put her after snuggle time.

The first eggs were either infertile or died. She is carrying eggs again but she wont let the male near her.. keeps running away. Not sure if these will get fertilized either.

This beautiful lizard is soon to be Spikes new brother. I would say Spikes little brother.. because he is smaller.. but he is older. We should have him in a week or so .. as soon as his house is set up!

He is an Arabian Uromastyx.. the one I wanted was even prettier.. but my son chose this one.

This is the daddy of the one I wanted to get.

The amazing one isnt mine.. the almost as amazing blue one is going to be mine in a week or so. I am waiting on the breeder to email me an invoice. There are a lot of people that sell them on kingsnake classified and fauna classified. There is Deer Fern Farms owned by a very friendly and helpful man named Doug Dix. There is Switzer Reptiles owned by an equally helpful and friendly man named Kevin. I can not say from experience just yet.. but these lizards seem to be super playful and hyper as babies through sub-adult. The adults I have seen are a little slower. They are not hands on lizards like beardies though. They dont like to sit still for long. When I say not hands on.. I dont mean that they arent tamable. They are probably as tamable as a beardie.. and you can touch them and pick them up.. they just dont like to sit still as much as a beardie. I am looking forward to learning MUCH more about these guys. I am still partial to beardies.. I think they are cuter.. but this was my sons choice and it seems like a good one! I tried to talk him into a hypo transluscent beardie from bloodbank!!

So.. after a two week ordeal.. we finally have our new Uromastyx. The blue one we were supposed to get died. Then I got a Club tailed iguana instead on accident.. while the uro went to New Jersey. Then after the uro got back to the breeder.. he kept it a few days to readjust.. and then sent him out yesterday. My son was a bit disappointed because it wasn't the blue one.. but here he is!

Did you have to send the Iguana back? I've never seen that type of Iguana before, pretty neat looking..

No.. the breeder said I could keep him.. but sadly I didn't have anywhere to keep him. Plus I had not spent the past three months learning about them like I did the Uro so I was not confident that I could keep him without doing him any harm. I gave him to Spike's vet. He is going to live in a huge custom enclosure at the clinic. Its about 8 feet long.. 4 feet wide.. and goes from floor to ceiling. I think he should be happy in there!

Spikes new little / big brother. He is much smaller than Spike.. but about a year and a half older.
