I rescued a beardie (Bowser) a few months ago, and he has had a rough start in life. While I was at the rescue, I noticed that Bowser had some weird growths or callouses on his legs. (See pics) They are pretty regularly spaced, and honestly seem like some kind of wart to me. The vet there said that they were burn marks (from his previous owner), but I'm not convinced. They're spaced so regularly, it just seems like they are some kind of natural growth. They are only on his rear legs, and they go along his thigh up to near his vent. Has anyone seen this type of thing before? I have him in the same conditions as my previous beardie, who had no problems. (Reptisun 10.0, heat lamp, 50gal enclosure, tile surface, temp gradient 74F to 95F, superworm, kale, bok choy, and acorn squash diet, dusting with vitamin and calcium regularly)
Any info on this is helpful. Thanks!

Those are femoral pores. Your vet didn't know that ? If you Google bearded dragon femoral pores pics , you'll see a bunch of pics of them. Perfectly normal part of the anatomy, males have larger ones.

Wow. I feel stupid now. '^_^ Yeah I didn't totally trust that vet at the rescue place; tbh, they are supposed to be a rescue for native Florida animals, but they get stuck with exotics (animal services refuses anything other than cats and dogs.) I do have a GOOD exotics vet that I normally go to, but I didn't want to pay for a visit just to ask, "What's that spot?" Thanks for your help.

Your'e welcome....and don't feel stupid. And you can cut the rescue vet a break. Whereas human doctors only have people to look at and diagnose, veterinarians have many different species of animals to look at and figure out what is up anatomically and healthwise, so if he wasn't an exotics / herp vet, femoral pores were not familiar to him/ her. You can now tell the vet that the mystery is solved.!

Wow, those are prominent! My adult male Blaze pores look like someone poked him with a pencil. These ones are huge compared to blazes! Lol!

Yeah, he was just so beat up when the rescue group got him, I just assumed that it was some kind of injury. My last beardie was female, so makes sense why I didn't notice them before! lol

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
