A little background
Name : Savage
Age - 3-4 months
Sex - Boy ?
Tank size - 40 gal
Light - Powersun Uv 100 watts

During his usual shed . Routine ( 2 bath soaks ; misting in between )

He was shedding a couple of days ago , I heard thumping in his tank and noticed his beard was getting darker . So I picked him up and noticed that he bit his toe/toe nail and it bled but it wasn't deep. I've just been doing soaks and using a toothbrush to clean the area in case there was any old shed hanging around . But now it's just on and off he will try to bite the same toe again. I haven't the clue what to do ! I just know I don't want him to continue hurting himself ! Anyone have any suggestions ?

This happens once in a great while when the toe is very irritated.

One thing you can do [ if you can manage ] is to wrap it with a bit of gauze + tape , but apply a good dab of raw honey or Neosporin to it before you wrap it. Wrap it pretty tightly but not too much and partly up to his knee joint. Raw unpasteurized honey is a powerful antimicrobial but it goes one step further and promotes tissue growth because of all the protein+ enzymes in it.

So I should wrap his whole foot to half of his leg ? I was so nervous . Thank you for responding !

Yes, lay his toes out straight very gently so you don't tape them backwards and wrap a small bit of gauze + tape, not too bulky. By wrapping it up to his leg it will keep him from pulling it off but stopping BEFORE the knee joint so he can still bend it.

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
Mirage entered brumation yesterday, I'm gonna miss hanging out with my little guy.
