So something that i was thinking about that can really reduce the stress level of your beardie is to not disturb them when they are in there favorite sleeping spot. Now correct me if im wrong, but if the beardie sleeps in the same spot a majority of the time then that probably means they feel safe there. Lola sleeps under a little bridge thing and sleeps there 5 days a week probably. I make sure never to disturb her when she is sleeping and especially not when she is sleeping under her bridge. If you constantly disturb them when they are in there "safe zone" that would be incredibly stressful.

Also something i do, is about 15 minutes before i turn off all the lights i turn of her heating lamp only and the room lights so the room is dark and there is no more heat and only the UV light is on. I think lola has gotten the message and she knows that its about to get dark so she better go to her bridge before it get too dark and she has to just sleep where ever she wanders to. Just a thought on something i have learned and maybe you should try it with your beardie if you feel it would be beneficial for them

Great suggestions

Sometimes we have to look at things from our animal companion's perspective to understand how to best meet their needs. Sounds like you are very observant and really in tune with your dragon.

I was just talking with my hubby not more then 10 minutes ago . I was telling him how i felt about Teaka.I feel that she is really going to stress out when i get her new viv done, For the reason that she wont be able to see us and watch us in the frontroom . I swear she watches tv all the time. She can also see the kitchen and the family room from where her tank is now.I need to figure out a way for her to be able to have all of this in her new tank.I think she has me wrapped around her little fingers and heart. :love5: So yes i can relate.

My son's Barty runs back and forth in the tank when the kids comes home from school. She knows that in about a half hour one will come and get her.

we usually put chimera to bed , he has a fleece blankie he loves. hes always out of his viv in the evening for family time so when its his bedtime we just set him in the middle and fold over one side and poof hes out cold . Humm might have to try slowly turning out his lights and see if he picks his own spot in his viv to sleep , hes just spoiled rotten lol

I'm not sure that leaving the uvb on without the bright light to protect their eyes is a good thing to do. Without the bright light more uvb enters their eys and that could cause damage.

I dont think that its a problem because she just sits there for about 3-5 minutes then go's down and finds a place to sleep. it isnt on for very long with her sitting there

if im there when the lights go out which is usually, i will open the door and put him in his bed and drape his blanket over him, because i dont have curtains for his tank so light gets in there because hes in our living room, so if we are home i wanna make sure hes covered so its dark. i do this also because it seems when the lights go out he cant see for a little bit after wards and does stupid things like try jumping up the wall and hitting his head lol, as if he cant see a wall there. its like the light goes out too quick and he doesnt adjust his vision quickly, but he still trys to find a sleeping spot. but i just got him a bed so i figured he likes it , he goes to sleep rather quick.
i think its the funniest thing how concerned beardies are about comfort Lol, when he tries sleeping on my neck i feel him wiggling around trying to find a good spot

My little Lizzy just plops down when the lights go out & she is down for the night..I cant believe how soundly she sleeps. She is only 5 months old. But, I havnt seen her sleep in any one place. Literally crashes where she is when the timers turn out lights....

It's funny, my beardies always know when it's almost time for bed. Ghanima will fall asleep up to an hour before the lights go out, and Leto usually goes to his sleepy spot about 30 minutes before. It's amazing.

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
