hey everyone,

I recently ordered some dubia to see if my beardie liked them, she loved them and now i can finally say i don't have to order crickets by the thousands anymore! :D So last week i ordered 500(3/8in nymphs) 50(7/8in nymphs) and 100(1-1.5in nymphs) to start my colony going. i have them in a huge rubbermaid tub with a heat pad on one side. they are all doing great eating drinking from what i can see. So i ordered 1000 more 3/8 in nymphs to use as feeders and 100 more 1-1.5 in nymphs to add to the colony. Right now they are feeding on crushed cat food(Taste of the wild since my cat is allergic to carbs) and they have some water crystals in there for water. so my questions are about different food that i could offer them.
1) can i give them some bread(12 grain)
2) i have so much of the left over cricket gut load(fluker's and the damn Ghanna's cricket chow) can i add some to the dubia feeding bins or should i just throw this stuff out?
3)i know they like oranges, does anyone know if they like grapes?
4)Can i put some of my bear dies multi vitamins in there food?(Rep-Cal herptivite)

Thanks for all the help in advance
Tom

why stay away from bread?

mine loves bread and if there were oranges, dry food (dog/cat/etc), and bread, they go for bread first. even if the bread was on the far side, they would walk over the oranges and the dry food to get the bread.

Probably because the bread molds fast and I heard the mold will wipe them all out.

I just started a colony a month ago and I feed them dog food, oatmeal and corn flakes flakes for dry food. They seem to drag the corn flakes into their cartons as soon as i put it in. In addition to oranges they seem to go nuts for squash and carrots. Next I think I'll try strawberries and potatoes, I heard they work well.

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
Mirage entered brumation yesterday, I'm gonna miss hanging out with my little guy.
