solor glo 125w and questions

hello, so today i got myself a bearded dragon and picked up a Solar Glo bulb 125w(what the store uses) and within the first 2 mins(flickered a bit before..) it turned off and since it hasnt been able to get over 80..can a bulb be blown but still show light? or is this some sort of freak issue. my ranges are about 10 inches

so im ordering a new bulb but how long cant these guys go without uvb and uva and what bulb do you recommend

can they be used in any fixture? same question for heat emitters(40watt exo terra)

Hello,

What type of light fixture were you using? Since you were using a Solar Glo 125 watts, your ceramic light fixture should be rated for at least 250-300 watts for safety & to ensure that it will handle the wattage & heat going through it. It is a possibility that you got a bad light. Do you have it on a dimmer? Is it angled or mounted straight down?

I would personally go with the Megaray right now since there have been some problems with the newer Powersun models recently.

dang..already ordered the powersun. ill just use it till i have the chance to get the bulb replaced
it is on a dimmer but the dimmer is on all the way and was laying flat.

have him on a flood light right now is hes a little stressed..selling me a faulty bulb!!
