or maybe a strategy to get him back onto his cricksets?? ( tried a few a couple of weeks ago be he just looked at them and then looked up and me like.... uhh not happening mom.

Black Soldier flies are harmless and don't live very long, they dont even have mouthparts. You can also offer the flies to your dragon - some love them. A wine cooler or a cooler with an ice pack can slow them down... There are some guides online I think. Buying a correct size tub and the a size or two smaller might let the smaller tub be grown by the time the larger ones are gone. You can feed them non-meat kitchen scraps if needed. You can even culture your own ( though would need to tolerate the flies) outside if you live in the southern us.

i live in manitboa lol its like almost winter atm so i dont think that would work out too well .... i tried offering him a fly lol but i chickened out.... idk why i'm so afraid of them maybe its my aversian to wasps thats kicking in or something :p plus my bf doesnt want them lose in the hose so he's like take it out lol ( i think he freaked out more than i did )

what about in the fridge i heard thats too cold for them but i could always leave them in there at night and take them out in the morning ??

he's been really picky too someimtes he wont eat his worms other times he will , that or he wants superworms lol ( little piggy )

same with his veggies lately,,, but i think thats just cuz its geting cold outside and he senses it on warmer days he eats more lol .... so its a battle atm ( i've got baby food on stat just incase )

You want to keep BSF's in the mid 50's F, if I recall correctly. If you have a basement floor, that would work well. Find the coldest spot in your home. A refrigerator is too cold.

BSF are fascinating flies. As Tater mentioned, they have no mouth once they mature, so they won't fly and land on your food to take a bite. Once they are adults, they live about two weeks, looking to mate and lay their eggs. But Manitoba won't have the right conditions, so you don't even have to worry about that. Some people have said that their beardies love chasing the flies. Give it a try!

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
Mirage entered brumation yesterday, I'm gonna miss hanging out with my little guy.
