So, kind of weird question?

I love to use scents in my room; candles, inscense, those aroma diffusers, but I stopped when I got my snake and my dragon in fear it would mess with them somehow.

Is there any kind of logic behind that? Is it actually possible to accidentally screw with my animals by using scents in my room?

Any kind of help would be great!

I honestly haven't ever heard anything about fumes/vapors hurting reptiles unless it's something that is poisonous or toxic to them, like some essential oils are toxic to beardies, like Tea Tree oil. So if it's anything like that you need to research each individual essential oil. Cleaners can definitely cause them issues is they're harsh, contain bleach,nor are very strongly perfumed. Oven cleaner and a lot of bathroom cleaners are toxic.

As far as scented candles, perfume, potpourri, carpet powders, etc. I really don't know about reptiles, so I'll let someone else answer, HOWEVER, if you ever acquire ANY SPECIES OF PET BIRD/PARROT, you absolutely cannot use any type of scented candles, potpourri, oil burners, incense, room spray like Febreeze or Glade, any type of room deodorizer like Plug-Ins, carpet powders, ANY type of cleaners at all except natural cleaners that are unscented and made from vinager and water, no all-purpose cleaners, dusting sprays, Windex, bathroom cleaners, pretty much anything found in the cleaning aisle and the candle/house deodorizer aisles! Any of these things will KILL birds that are inside the house very quickly, the only way to save them once effected is to rush them to an animal hospital immediately so they can be put into an oxygenated brooder and given fluids. Their respiratory systems are extremely sensitive, and basically any type of fumes and vapors can kill them. You actually have to get rid of any non-stick pots and pans that have the blàck, Teflon coating, as pet birds are very often, unfortunately, literally falling over dead because people don't know about this and they cook with a non-stick pan. Pet birds literally die within seconds of a non-stick, Teflon pan being heated up. I use only ceramic non-stick pans with a white coating free of Teflon, Cast Iron, or Stainless...Just an FYI.

Someone else can help with the answer as pertaining to beardies. Because I have multiple parrots my house is completely free of any scents, Teflon, etc. anyway, so I've never worried about my beardies being exposed to anything.
