Well guys, it turns out I probably won't be able to get a beardie. Its not because we can't afford to keep one or anything, its really about feeders. My mom refuses to let me start a cricket or dubia colony for any reason. I've tried to convince her many times but she just won't allow it. I was thinking phoenix worms would be the solution but she won't let me get a mini fridge in my room to cool them down so they last longer. If I can figure out another way to cool phoenix worms down besides by having a mini fridge, I'll go through with getting a beardie but right now, it just seems like it won't happen and I REALLY want a beardie for my 18th birthday :(

Silkworms are an option, also i have to say superworms are good. It takes a while to get a colony started but once it is youll have supers ranging from microscopic size to adults. You can feed the small ones to a juvie easilly and leave the rest to reach maturity and replenish your breeding stock.

I have a small cooler that I keep my reptiworms in.. I have a few ice packs that I change out every few days and it works great.. You could also order the micro super worms for a baby and just dust them with calcium powder..

Where do you live? If your house has a basement there is usually a place down there where it is cool enough to store the repti/phoenix worms, that's what I do. Remember you don't want them actually in a fridge where it's cold enough to kill them, but a place about 55-60ish degrees.
If you don't have a spot in the house cool enough though, the cooler with icepacks sounds like a good idea

Thanks guys :). I'll be sure to give that a try. I'm going to a reptile show this weekend to get an enclosure though I haven't decided what I want between a Blue Tongue Skink or the Beardie.

I just set Swordtail's timer for his bath and paused it so I could actually fill his soaking bowl up and he crawled over my phone and canceled the timer 🤣
Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
