slippery wood

So I went out and bought Moose $118.00 worth of new stuff for his enclosure for his upcoming Birthday :lol: He is using some of it, however my absolute favorite piece is too slippery for him, he can't get up it

I am going to get Craig to cut a few inches off the "legs" so it's not so steep but what can I go to the actual wood to make it not so slippery?

Someone on another board just told me to spray it down and leave it out in the sun, it should weather it enough so he can grip it!

Cross your fingers it works.

You can rough up the surface with either a wood rasp or some 50 or 80 grit sandpaper. Contrary to normal procedure, sand/rasp *across* the grain.

spray modge podge on it then sprinkle with fine sand i do this to everything that is slippery it works well.

I can't wait to get this ready and in his enclosure! I also thought about buying that bendable vine stuff and wrapping it around the trunk to give him something to grip onto.
