Slippery tile

Upgraded from paper towel to tile. Menards had 100's to choose from and I got a few that didn't feel completely slick it has the most grip out of all of them but my dragon is losing traction all over the place when trying to chase down crickets. He catches a few than gives up So I'm wondering if there is a way to make the tile more grippy. Maybe sprinkle a little sand over it and seal it with a watered down mod podge??? Just wondering if anybody has had the same problem and what they did or if anybody has any ideas what I can do.

Those look similar to the tiles I use. If he's having trouble walking on it after a bit then they may not be the best choice for you. You may want to try putting some fleece down over it which will give him a softer surface and a bit more grip. Fleece won't catch their nails and is easy to throw in the washer if it gets dirty. I use fleece over half of my tile and leave the other half open but my dragon hasn't shown any issues walking on it.

Yeah I will give him a few days to get use to it . He can walk on it he just can't run and will give up on catching crickets and just go back to basking even though I know he's not full. I have been putting crickets in the freezer for 30 seconds to a minute to dumb them down before feeding but when I do this there is no hunting involved just eating crickets up off the floor. Kind of boring to watch and I'm sure just as boring for the dragon haha
