Ok all so normally with the temps were having my 100 watt halogen exo terra bulb had been keeping my basking probe at 105-110, I was happy with this. Last night I came home from work and the same bulb with even colder outside ambient temps had the same probe at 130 degrees. I freaked out, turned off his light and switched to his night setup. The probe sits on a rock so maybe he moved to to an area that had absorbed more heat than where it normally sits? I'm rather worried about using the halogen exo terra bulb again because I don't want till burn or dehydrate him. He looks fine and he's active this morning was waiting on his salad. He's got a temp gradient if he does get too warm..if he notices he's too warm at least, he just really seems to like that spot though. Should I throw in a different bulb or continue with the 100 watt halogen exo terra? This is what I currently have to choose from on hand.

100 watt halogen exo terra (current day light)
100 watt zoo med repti basking spot
100 watt infrared exo terra basking spot
100 watt red reptile night light zoo med
150 watt exo terra night heat (no visable)
75 watt critter culture night heat (current night bulb)
45 watt red reptile light zoo med

He also has his reptisun 10.0

Sounds like you might want to step the wattage down a hair. I always suggest just running to Wal-Mart and grabbing a pair of floodlights for ten bucks. They heat up real nice at low wattages. A seventy five- ninety sounds like it might help, even.

Will they mount nicely in the domes I have now? I have the typical large metal domes with ceramic sockets. Or do you think the extra100 watt white none halogen reptile bulb I have now would work? I'm starting to be a little afraid of halogens after that

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
