I recently got Zepp, I did alot of research before buying him. I wanted tomake sure I would be able to give him proper care. He has become very spoiled since moving in I can't help it he is just so cute. My problem is that I let him sleep in the bed with me at night, I wrap him up in a tshirt then put him on a pillow then put a blanket on him. He has become quite fond of this seeing as how come night time he begs to get out by bobing his head and trying to break the glass down. I just want to make sure I am not hurting him by allowing him to sleep with me everynight. I figure it is ok because I turn off his lighting at night anyways. So if anyone knows if this is ok or not I would apprecaite it the last thing I want to do is hurt him.

The only danger with them sleeping with you is if you crush them accidentily. There is also the risk of them waking up before you do and wondering off...though in my experience, a beardy is unlikely to want to get out of a nice soft bed, especially if they are wrapped up.

As you surmised, their lights are off...so there is little need for them to be in there viv during sleepy time. But like I said, be careful not to squish zepp! Also make sure to put him back in his viv for basking and UV exposure the next morning.

Thank you for responding. He does very good at night I get him out around 8 or 9 and he might crawl around a bit and watch tv for a while, but when he is ready to go to sleep he let's me know by crawling up this huge pillow I have and he will get on the corner then ill cover him with the shirt then he is out like a light. He sleeps longer than I do and harder than I do he never trys to get out or move during the night. When I wake up I will have a cup of coffee he might open his eyes if he is ready to get up he crawls out to the end of my bed. :) if not he goes back to sleep. I know I'm werid :)

I have slept with both my dagons, but since I roll all over the place during the night, its too much of a risk for my dragons. Hell, I once went to sleep with three large pet rats in my bed.....woke up to a bunch of rat poop all over me and my sheets. Last time I make that mistake with a nocturnal animal :p. I was 12yrs old at the time...I wish I were young again :(

Wow I hope my wife dont read this thread she brings her dragon Victoria to bed she will wait till I am asleep and chew my eyebrows off. She gives me the evil eye everytime she sees me. Now the other 3 dragons love me just fine, you can tell she is a WIFES DRAGON.

:( I wish I could let Budo sleep in my bed. I am a very heavy sleeper; I wouldn't risk it. However, I am also an insomniac, so I snuggle with Budo until insanely early hours (5am, 6am, 7am), which is usually soon before his lights go back on. :D

Pookie sleeps next to me every night. He used to sleep on top of me during the cold winter nights, but I had to put a stop to that because I wasn't getting any rest (every little shift of his body woke me up and I had to sleep on my back which resulted in back pains). Even if he woke up before me, he never got out of bed. He'd just lay there staring at me until I opened my eyes.

As much as I love my dragon I dont think I could let him in the bed with us. This thread is great though. I had no idea they could become so attached. Is it true they can get like that, or is it just a perception from loving dragon owners? I am still new to this.

Of course we really don't know for sure, but I think that beardies can definitely bond with people and do enjoy sleeping on softer surfaces. I think this is a result of Australia's strict importation rules, meaning that all the beardies in the pet trade have been captive bred for many generations and have become domesticated.

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
