Sleeping Black Beard

I went in to the back room tonight before bed (luckily) and Draco was asleep on his log as ususal, right under the heat emitter (which was due to go off shortly after), with a locust on his head (must've been hiding as we don't usually leave them in over night) and the blackest beard we have ever seen him have! (He has only propperly black bearded twice before, and never this dark).

I realised, the locust was sat on his third eye, and probably blocking it's heat sensing abilities as he was also gaping, but asleep. So, I knocked the locust off and then took it out, and within two minutes he was back to white underneath and had moved away from the heat emitter to a cooler spot lol random! Why he couldn't have just shook his head to get it off, unless it walked up there after he dropped off asleep and he was too fast asleep to notice /shrug who knows!?

Just thought i'd share, as I thought it a pretty random event in the life of our Draco hehe..

Hm, he must have gotten on him while he was sleeping. Ive seen Sobe shake crickets off his head like they're the most annoying things ever! Thats great he calmed right down though. Poor sleepy baby!

That's true! He was in a REALLY awkward position once, out cold, so we picked him up and put him on his log (his usual bed lol) and he just shuffled, eyes still closed, got comfortable and that was him until morning... a bit like me once i'm out, i'm out lol

He shakes them off during the day sometimes, but other times he just closes his eyes, he's so lazy lol

Cheers! :)

We got him silkworms for the first time yesterday and he aint interested. He's had about four, now won't touch them, which is so annoying since I know how good they are for him, I know how hard they are to get hold of in the Uk and it's taken me 4mnths until the supplier I found had any in stock. Oh well, our Leopard Gecko can't get enough of them so more fool Draco lol

Oh thats a bummer! At least you have a Geko you can feed un too so they wont go to waste. I purchased 2- 500 qty containers of Pheonix worms one time. Judah loved them alot but he could digest them properly, the kept coming out whole undiegested, then ended up messing him all up. So I had to stop feeding them to him... so that was a waste of money unfortunately.

Woah that was unfortunate! They're packed full of such goodness too! I just think they're too thin though, he goes mad for the juivy waxworms when he gets them once in a while and the more often, but still a treat, butterworms. They are the only things he will eat outside his viv. But silkies... no lol
Like you say though, at least our Gecko appreciates them, the lil terror hehe

I just set Swordtail's timer for his bath and paused it so I could actually fill his soaking bowl up and he crawled over my phone and canceled the timer 🤣
Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
