Sleeping all day

Hello,

My bearded dragon lays all day in the cave area he has, in the cold end and sleeps.
Is this normal?

Info:
- 3 days sleep now
- 2 year old
- Last poop around 1.5 week since
- Opens eye a sometimes and look, then go to sleep again
- I put fresh water and green inside every day
- Hot end/basking area good temperature.
- cold end, a little bit under normal... Heat lamp on it's way.
- Only had him for about 1 month, so new to this bearded dragon thing.

Sounds like he is going into Brumation. If you have the right temps, UVB , providing food and water i am pretty sure he is going into Brumation based on the info you provided.

For UVB im using Arcadia D3+ 12.0 T8 tube (Only 1 month old)
Temperature is=
Basking area: approx 40.6c - 106f
Mid area: 30c - 86f
Cold area: 22c - 71.6f (I know it may be a little bit cold, waiting for the lamp to come)

If he is going to brumation, should i wait with adding more warm in the cold area? Or is okay to plug it in, as soon i get it?

Anything i should do with him, while he is brumation?

Your temperature gradient is good. I would leave it as it is. If he wishes to sleep I'd let him do so. Just take him out to weigh him every few days and record it. That will let you keep track. As long as it remains pretty stable he should be OK.

Hi there, as the others said it does sound like he's possibly going in to brumation. Keep the temps. cool where he's sleeping and only get him out every 10-14 days and offer some water. You really don't need to disturb them when they want to sleep.
