Skittery first time handling

We got Rey on the 16th, easter and my son's bday. Tonight we handled her for the first time for more than just a couple seconds, we will pick her up just to move the decos out of her viv for feeding. We took her out about 10 mins before lights out, lights go on at 6am when the sun rises and off at 8pm when it sets. She was very active climbing up all of our shoulders, jumping from one person to the other, but did not show any stress marks or heavy breathing. Is it normal for baby's to be so active when first getting used to handling?

Yes ... they have two speeds, Warp 10 or statue mode.

Please .... no more shoulder surfing or jumping for your new little spikey child.

Is very dangerous for them if they fall and land on a hard surf , can easily result in a bone shattering impact and even damage their vital organs.

Best to make sure beardie is well supported at all times on your cupped hand , on your lap, on your tummy or chest .

I made sure there wasn't any danger to Rey, we were sitting on the couch and my husband was standing over making sure that if she got too close to the edge and was going to jump he would be able to grab her before she could.

best not to grab suddenly, this will only freak Rey out, simply place your open hand infront of him a road block then place the other hand over Rey .... I find this works , when they trust you but really want to get off , they'll try to bulldoze their way through the blocking hand .... LOL sometimes they have their own agenda ...

Thank you for all the advice, she has been doing very well with us handling her so far. She seems to be getting a lot more comfortable.
