Size Does Matter?

Hi all,
Miles is about 16.75 inches long at 7 months of age.
How long do they grow for? Does tank size factor into if he's going to get any bigger?
I'm in the process of getting him into a bigger tank.

im not an expert by any means, but im pretty sure a dragon is going to grow whether or not they have the room. (not like a gold fish lol) they will just be cramped and not happy. im not sure how long they grow for, but i just read on here that a dragon grew a couple of inches at the age of 2. i hear a 40 gal breeder is the smallest recommended tank for a full grown beardie.

I actually hear the question about whether nor reptiles will grow to the size of their enclosure quite frequently...that is a common myth. All reptiles will grow to the size they're meant to be, regardless of cage size. If you keep the cage small to try and keep your pet small... you'll just end up with a big, cramped reptile in a small cage!

They grow the most the first year or two of their lives. After that, they will continue to grow very slightly throughout their lives, but it will never be the big growth spurt exhibited as babies. Some bearded dragons will reach close to full size in less than a year, while others grow a little bit slower and may take up to 2 years to stop growing significantly.

I have another question.
At what point do I start giving my beardie less feeders and more greens? He eats 2x a day.
He gets both every day and he's 7 months old.

You could start now. Check out the thread I just started over in the feeding forum, it reviews our average feeding schedule for the beardies at the store. At the size yours is, you could probably go down to feeding just once a day, and alternate between greens and insects.
