Silly Butt, And BITES?! ugh lol

My Rex is so funny! last night i was watching him in his tank and see what his silly butt was doing. I just feed him his greens. and what he would do was run to the dish take a couple bites and run back in the basking spot and do it again. i guess he wanted to make some more room in his belly lol. then i saw him drinkin water from his water dish. I just put fresh water in his dish and put alot. lol then after he was done drinking he went into the water dish and was like playing in it. doing a bob head. and wiggling his little butt and moving in circle ive never seen this behavior from him before. i love my funny little beardie.
But saddly he is very mean. to pick him up i have to grab him quickly before he climes out of his cage. and i have to becare to bc he can bite.
Never been bitten before by a beardie and dont plan to i see thoses teeth in there im pretty sure it would hurt.

My babies Ziggy and Natsu both do the 'eat a few bites, bask, and repeat" thing! Also, I would say leave a tshirt that smells like you in the tank, or just work on handling him more so he will get used to you

Birdoc does the eating thing sooo much! It's funny!
If he doesn't like hanging out with you right now, maybe try just sitting with him beside his tank and talking to him for a bit everyday! That's what I did while my little girl was brand new to me, and she started getting more gentle to me and now she loves to cuddle! Plus the t-shirt method, as mentioned above, really helped too! But be careful... he might like to play tug of war with it!

i sit by his cage for a long time now i try to handle him as much as possible. the shirt idea sounds like a great idea but i going to try a sock its smaller and also has a stronger smell to it :silent:

Does anyone else beardie dance in the water?? its cute

both of ours love to dance in the water. Even when in the bath they get mad if you take them out. Very funny to watch.

ok so the running to food then light then food is normal.
and dancing in the bath water is normal also

nope no belly sliding across the tank he just does this water dish and then after runs into the basking spot and runs back into the water lol hes crazy lol :wink:
