silkworms

So i bought silkworms for my beardie and probably about 70% has turned too mush in the bottom of their little cage..
so i cleaned out the cage kept all the living ones and a day and a half later im seeing that almost half of those are all dead or dieing...
slimy, in dark dirt or something and deflating

I would get intouch with the place you order your worms from and explain the problem. If they are to cold they will die off ,but silkworms also are known for viruses & bacteria problems. If you handle the worms without washing your hands this can be bactera , if they turn to black mush this can be a virus an the shipper SHOULD replace the order.There are silkworm care sheets out there to help too. Where did you order them from?

As Denise stated you must be very careful and clean handeling silkies. They also need to be fed every day, or many times a day, depending on their size.
How long have you had them? Have you fed them? What size are they? David

they are turning black and turning to mush yes they are large didn't feed them cause i didn't know i had too
had them 3 days maybe 4

Thats why they are dying probably. They eat mulberry leaves or silkworm chow only. Large silkies need to be fed alot.
