Silkie Hatchlings.

:D Hatched 4/17/11

16 eggs 15 hatched.5 italian silkies,10 assorted italian leatherbacks and normal backs.wanted to share some silkie pics, they are starting their first shed so I soaked them to loosen up the shed skin and give them a drink.

Dad is an orange hypo italian leatherback,mom is a red italian leatherback.

Third picture, baby on the right. That one is mine, you can send her to me now lol. Very pretty babies, I'm really wanting a silkie.

i love the leather backs i dont think i could keep a silky i would be afraid to hold it they feel so fragile

Silkies are not fragile at all,does feel un dragon like with no scales.

Is that one pictured a hypo silkie? I love the set of siblings of this one I saw pictured on an older post of yours. Some of the best ive seen.

No not a hypo, this is one from the last time Moma Rosa was bred, about 2 years ago.I used a brighter orange hypo italian leatherback male this time to make more colorful Silkies and leatherbacks. that male is around 15" he did not color up until 12-13" then it was an epic transformation. all the Silkies last breeding were orange except 1 neon yellow. :blob5:

I did make hypo Silkies last year but the hypo gene seemed to have wiped out a lot of color in those breedings.

I just set Swordtail's timer for his bath and paused it so I could actually fill his soaking bowl up and he crawled over my phone and canceled the timer 🤣
Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
