silk worms

I just got some silk worms in the mail and boy was I surprised, they are about 1 to 1 1/4 inches long. My beardie is approximately 6 inches and 2 1/2 inches. The silk worms seem like they are way to big for him. I know the rule for cricket size but what about for silk worms?

That should be 6 inches long and 2 1/2 months old

i don't think you'll have any problems feeding them to him. they may be big to him but they're also soft bodied feeders. which means they're basically just mush, no hard parts for him to digest.

So does anyone know how to store silk worms? Or if they need to be fed? I only ordered 25 of them because I wanted to be sure Draco would eat them. I gave him reptiworms tonight and he actually gobbled them up. He only ate about 4-5 and normally he would eat 10-15 crickets. I am not sure if he just wasn't real Hungry or if they just fill him up faster. Also can you feed them reptiworms as their staple protein? Other than roaches what is the idea protein for him?

Yes, repti worms are a good staple. They're also really high in calcium so you don't need to dust them! For a list of staples, here is the website most of us use. I'm afraid I'm not familiar with silk worms, so I don't know how to store them. However, they can only eat mulberry leaves.

It is very hard to find info on them. I only ordered 25 and 4 were dead when I opened them so I guess we will just use them up quickly. He ate two today and lived them so I am sure it won't be.a problem
