silk worms? thoughts, opinions?

i bought a couple to day to try out. and they started to like.. tie each other together. i did separate them.

just want to know how you guys feel about them?

also did anyone notice that they sort of have a face? kind of look like a donkey to me.

Silkworms are one best feeders. I highly recommend them although they are quite expensive. Mine loves em

Good feeders, but VERY hard to keep alive!

Hard to keep alive and can get a bacteria that can make dragons sick. We used them for a while then switched to horn and butterworms while getting a dubia colony started. Our dragons all loved the horns and butters but their favorites have to be the dubia.

i noticed some weird fuzzy stuff that had developed. i made sure to pull it off in case it was harmful

the fuzzy stuff could be the silk they let out overtime. just make sure you let the food dry out all the way before putting more food in for them and you shouldn't get a mold problem. Using rubber gloves to handle their food is a good idea also.

I never fed silkworms to my beardies...but I did raise a few hundred for science fair and as pets. I did have a huge mulberry tree in my neighbor hood so raising them was much easier. They are, in my opinion, the hardest feeder to raise.
