Hey guys! I have a hatchling dragon that will be one month old on Thursday. She's been eating like a champ, even her greens. This morning when I turned the cage lights on she had some poop stuck to her tail, which I thought was odd. When I got back from running errands just an hour or so ago, she was droopy headed on the cool side of her tank, pretty much completely listless with eyes closed. I gave her a warm bath and warmed her up under the light, but I don't know what else I can do for her. I'm going to try to get her to eat some baby food later. I'm pulling my hair out! Everything I did was right, and this isn't my first beardie! I'm pretty frustrated and upset.

Here are my tank specs. I've kept the tank very simple so I can monitor her growth and behavior, but mostly so that I can see how much she's eating. Remember that she's less than 5 inches long, so the tank size isn't inhumane yet, lol.

-equivalent of a 15 gallon tank
-basking lamp
-reptisun 10
-warm side between 95 and 105, usually around 103
-cool side around 83 to 85

diet:
-dusted 1/8 to 1/4 inch crickets (reptical and herptivite)
-greens include carrots, kale and/or cactus pad cut up into tiny bits

Schedule:
lights on at 7 am, bath in the afternoon, lights off at 830 pm

Oh, she's been having normal bowel movements also, about once per day and solid with urates at one end. Very tidy looking

If I forgot anything, just ask!
Here are the photos of her I took a couple of minutes ago (after her warm-up bath) I put her back under her basking lamp to stay warm but she moved away from it:

UPDATE:
I syringed warm water into her mouth and she looked like she needed to defacate. She pooped and it was all a creamy color. Liquidy urates??? There was no normal brown fecal material passed at all :(

She looks dehydrated, how often have you been bathing her? Is the Repti-Sun 10.0 a compact or strip fluorescent light and what is the distance of it? What type of thermometer are you using? What is the wattage of the basking bulb?

How often have you been dusting with the calcium and vitamins? She is very thin, have you been supplementing with chicken or turkey baby food mixed with squash? If not, you need to start doing that.

Kale really isn't a good staple green to feed as it binds calcium. Here's a list of the best foods to feed with the staple ones in green print: www.beautifuldragons.503xtreme.com/Nutrition.html

Hey Diane, thanks for the reply!

I have been bathing her once per day and also misting once per day.

I have the reptisun 10 flourescent tube and right now I'd say it's about 8 inches away from the floor of the enclosure.

She gets crickets daily and they are dusted every time, with both supplements. I have not been supplementing with baby food - I never found information saying I should, so I just didn't know. I hope my ignorance doesn't kill the poor thing :(
I just gave her some baby food squash this evening mixed with warm water. I hope that's ok to start getting her re-hydrated and fed.

Her staple green is cactus pad, which, according to beautiful dragons is an acceptable staple. I have given her kale but not every day. Same with carrots. (sorry, I just reread that part of my post and it was poorly worded, oops).

Thanks so much for your help, I really appreciate it!

Odd request, but could you actually take her bulb out and check the writing that is on the bulb? I have seen a few cases where less-than-great bulbs were sold in reptisun 10 packages and the little ones eyes make me wonder.

Just double and triple checked, and it is the reptisun. I didn't know people were having problems like that! eep!

She's a hypotrans. Her dad was a purple trans from bloodbank and her mom was double het, I don't know where from though...

She's gone downhill. I really hope she can make it, but it's up to her now. I'm giving her water orally every couple of minutes; I was giving her squashy water a little while ago too. It seems like she might be clogged but she's so little that i don't want to hurt her by really getting in there. I've tried expressing her twice now but no luck.

She just passed away in my hands. I feel like such a horrible dragon keeper. Thanks for all of your replies, you guys are the best.

I'm sorry you lost her. You were doing everything right. Sometimes there is just some underlying problem that we have no way of knowing about. Sorry for your loss.

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
Mirage entered brumation yesterday, I'm gonna miss hanging out with my little guy.
