sick/ dieing?

ok so i woke up this morning to find my bearded dragon laying in the corner of her viv , her skin is verry light but her beard is pitch black and her head is always tilted almost straight up, also her eyes are open but not as much as the should be

im verry worried

Could you answer a couple of questions for us? This may help us to figure out what/ if anything your husbandry could be the cause of this.

First, what uvb do you have? is it a coil or compact? or a Mercury Vapor Bulb or a fluorescent tube?
What are the temps in your tank? and what do you take them with? Yes, temps are very important, incorrect temps and bad/no uvb will affect their appetites.

the hot side is about 87 the basking is 120 and the coolside is 80 ish

i have a repti glow 10.0 florescent light

Hello,

What type of thermometer are you using to measure the temperatures with, a stick on type, a digital probe or a temp gun?
The basking temperatures only need a range of 95-110 MAX, so 120 is entirely too high.
Which Reptiglo 10 bulb are you using, a compact/coil or a fluorescent tube bulb?
How close is the bulb to him & what type of basking light are you using? Is it a bright white light or a colored light?

im using a digital probe and a temp gun

i turned down my basking temp it is a 75-100 watt white light on a dimmer switch 8 inches away from the basking rock

the uv light is a florescent tube light , 12 inches away is the closest they can get (i know i need to make it so they can get closer)

shes not looking straight up any more her head is "normal" now but now she has her mouth open like shes over heating (but shes on the cool side of the tank), and from what i see she is taking slow short breaths

i was right she was dieing , she passed away at 4:30 ... in the process of disinfecting the viv now so my other 1 doesn't die from whatever

is there any thing else i should do?

Keep a close eye on your temps to make sure they are in the above mentioned vicinity. It sounds like she may have overheated.

I have this same exact situation right now with my 6 year old BD Leila. I came on to maybe find some infromation and I came across this post, the way you described your beardie is exactly what mine is like. Very light, dark beard, mouth open a little, eyes half closed, not very responsive to anything, but she's def still alive in there (she shows signs of movement when I hold her and in her throat). I'm waiting to see what happens over night. She was perfectly fine yesterday, and I noticed this when I woke up today. It didn't seem to get much better as the day went on. SHe let me turn her all the way on her back which she NEVRE EVER allows, that was the red flag for me. I know they are odd creatures and I've been though enough burmations with her, so I know they can pretty much shut down but this seems a little different to me.

First thing I did was check lighting, temps, and humidity. Her viv has been the same and perfect for her for years now and I monitor it very closely. I'm so sad to hear yours passed. I have a feeling mine may be on her last leg and it's killing me inside to the core. I scrolled though here to see if anyone had advice or had the same situation and could shed some light on it. The only thing I can do is see what happens over night. =(
