Hello,
I am the grandmother of a very loved bearded dragon. He has not been well for approx 2 weeks now. He initially displayed symptoms of dry heaving and respiratory distress. He was taken to the vet, xrayed, and started on abx for respiratory infection. Since then, he has been black for approximately 1.5 weeks, poor to no appetite, continues with occasional s/s respiratory distress and what appears to be dry heaves. He has required syringe feeding of critical care formula and abx were extended per vet orders. He was taken to vet a second time because of the continued decline...he has lost weight rapidly. Labs were drawn and vet mentioned it was likely metastatic cancer. The lab report noted his blood was hemolyzed 4+ so the readings may be not be 100% accurate but included elevated CPK level, WBC were normal, liver enzymes elevated, lymphocytes in the 5000's, and no basophils, can't recall the rest. Although he may have cancer, I do not believe that is the acute issue with him because his symptoms were so sudden. The radiologist report mentioned a small metallic object that may be in his GI tract among other things. Does anyone have any other ideas based on the xray?
Any help or input would be appreciated
