Alaska Beardie Gal
Hatchling Member
Hello,
I am in a desperate situation with my beardie.
He has special health needs and I am leaving for college next month.
I live in Alaska and have been looking for an forever home for him all winter and spring.
NO luck.
Time is pressing me and I am in despair.
If I no one can take him I will be forced to take him to Petco. And I am sure that he
will not survive there.
A little bit about the situation:
I have been a member of the bearded dragon community and it has really
helped me
raise my beardie and get us both over the bumps on the road.
I got hooked on beardies several years ago and purchased a male bearded dragon.
He is the sweetest dragon, but he always had delicate health (URI,
MBD, and Yellow Fungus have caused problems in the past).
He would have been in very bad shape if the wonderful members of the
BD.org community hadn't help us.
I adore him, but college plans force me to find a home for
him. And now with my leaving next month... Things are desperate.
A little bit about him.
He is a Male Red Flame Het, born on July 24th 2007. I got him from Desert Dragons LLC.
His temperament is amazingly sweet and he never ever bites.
He has MBD and it has affected his jaw. Because of that he can only
eat soft food like Hornworms and Silkworms.
And he needs good UVB bulbs like Megaray and also liquid calcium.
It also seems that he has a very slow metabolism, because he has
a terrible appetite and often needs to be force fed.
If anyone can possible take one more beardie I would be eternally grateful.
Otherwise I have no idea what will happen to my poor boy...
