There ya go! Just bunker down and enjoy it =) I miss the big snows from my time in Western NY. There are a lot of options for battery backup (most are much cheaper than a generator). You can get one designed for a single PC or one designed for a server. For the most part, the more money you put into it, the more run time you get. It mainly just comes down to what fits your budget. APC makes some really nice stuff. I have an APC rackmount style backup designed for servers (it just sits under the table the tank is on). APC SMT1500RM2U http://www.amazon.com/APC-Smart-UPS-SMT1500RM2U-1440VA-Rackmount/dp/B004F09CVO On the other end of the spectrum, you could get a simple desktop style backup like this one which would provide lights during short power outages http://www.amazon.com/APC-BE750G-Saving-Battery-Back-UPS/dp/B000Z80ICM/ Lots of good options to fit different budgets.
